Halo Bassinest Glide Sleeper 5 Pros and Cons

A great bassinet can make a HUGE difference between a bad night experience with your baby and a great one. You want your bassinet to help you, not just take up space. But, how do you know what bassinet will do that?

One big mistake I made was to assume what I thought I needed in a bassinet. I planned on breastfeeding and thought that was going to be my biggest challenge, especially throughout the night. So without doing much research or asking friends about their experience, I choose a bassinet with only breastfeeding in mind. Boy was I WRONG!

Breastfeeding was the least of my worries. I had a baby that refused to sleep during the night. A baby that did not take to pacifiers, or sucking her thumb, and wanted to eat every hour and a half. I had to sooth her until she was old enough to start learning different ways to sooth herself. So having tools that played white music, swayed, and vibrated became my best friend. All things that my Bassinest model did not have.

So throughout this rough journey here are the 5 pros and cons I experienced with my Halo Bassinest Glide Sleeper:

Pros:
  1. Can glide up and down to your needs. Can go from 24" in height to 34" in height.
  2. Has a side pouch storage. Great for holding supplies you will need during the night.
  3. Breathable mesh boarder. I knew my baby was safe throughout the night and could easily breath when she started to toss and turn.
  4. Upgrade accessories available. Sold separately but are a huge help. (See links below)
  5. Glides easily through the house and does not scratch the floors.
Cons:
  1. The handle to adjust the height gets stuck and makes adjusting difficult sometimes.
  2. No extra features. Basic model. Which is great for parents who are looking for only this feature.
  3. Thin mattress. Had to pad the bed. Check link for mattress padding.
  4. Too big to be on the bed. Takes up too much space. My fault for not checking dimensions beforehand.
  5. Cannot glide under all surfaces due to size of pads on the legs.
The cons I experienced with Halo do not outweigh the pros. And to be completely honest the cons are due to my inexperience as a parent and misjudging what I thought would be a must have for a bassinet. If I have baby #2 I definitely want to stay with Halo. Although this bassinet did not have the features I needed, it was a strong bassinet and I felt like my daughter was safe in it. So I would go for their Swivel lines. These lines have the white noice, sways and vibrates in addition to gliding. All things I realized I need.

Overall I really enjoyed my Halo Bassinest Glide and would recommend this model and especially this line for parents in search for a strong, safe, and great bassinest. Make sure to check out my video for more details and the links below to review the products for yourself.
